NFhsfootball does not poll coaches, athletes, or fans. Nor do our staff make any judgment on the merits of any individual team. Prior to the season’s history, school size and message board comments were not considered in the NFhsfootbaLL Computer Rankings.
The system uses the results of a large number of games stored in the MaxPreps database. Generally, the higher a team wins, the higher it’s ranking. However, the system takes into account quality wins (against other higher-ranked opponents) and the power of the schedule.
For example, a team’s ranking is even more damaging if the team loses to a team that is below them.
Other things that will affect the ranking are the times when maxims contain incomplete or incorrect information. We will correct the errors when they are reported to us. If we are missing a score, please report it to our team’s MaxPreps page. If we’re missing a game on the schedule, send us your correction request.
